Dowhigh Recognised for Environmental Excellence. Local Highways firm achieve ISO 140001 Accreditation
Dowhigh have been officially recognised for their commitment to the environment after being awarded for excellence in environmental and sustainability issues.
Merseyside based highways company Dowhigh Ltd, have been officially recognised for their commitment to the environment this week.
The family run company, who employ 114 staff at their Netherton Head Office, have worked hard to achieve the accreditation, which is awarded for excellence in environmental and sustainability issues.
Trevor Murray, Director of Operations at the firm commented, 'We are delighted that our hard work has been recognised. Environmental considerations are at the heart of everything we do, from simple 'switch off' policies at head office, to major considerations on site, the team have worked hard to develop policies and procedures which not only protect the environment, but promote sustainable working practices across the business'.
Dowhigh have been at the forefront of re-cycling technology, developing a patented asphalt alternative in the form of Dowfoam. The product, which is produced at a purpose built plant in Bootle' is made utilising waste products from defunct surfaces and site waste.
Their recycling credentials combined with strict internal policies surrounding sustainability, health and safety and social and corporate responsibility have helped position Dowhigh as one of the 'greenest' operators in the region.
With plans to launch Dowfoam nationally and a Road Safety initiative with Sefton Council in the pipeline, it looks like Dowhigh plan to continue to build on this commitment to excellence in the coming months.More News
