Dowhigh Proud To Be Part of Ainsdale In Bloom Presentation To Britain In Bloom

On the 29th July, the Britain in Bloom judges finally arrived in Ainsdale to judge the village’s entry for this years awards.

After months of hard work completed by a number of groups around the village, it all came down to a few hours with the judges who would visit Ainsdale and view the different areas and groups which made up the entry which included:

  • Ainsdale in Bloom Village Bloomers
  • Ainsdale Civic Society
  • Ainsdale Horticultural Society
  • Ainsdale Village Community Garden
  • Friends of Ainsdale Village Park
  • Edda/Bridge Inn Community Farm
  • Merefield Special School
  • Ainsdale Community Wildlife Trust
  • Ainsdale Bowling Club
  • Sandbrook Park Bowling Club

The formal presentation, which took part at Financial Planning within Ainsdale Village saw Brenda Porter of Ainsdale in Bloom Village Bloomers give a presentation to the judges outlining what the work they do means to the people of Ainsdale, focusing on the advantages to mental wellbeing and building of community spirit – bringing Ainsdale and wider communities together.

Brenda also discussed the closer relationships which they have built with a number of companies who have supported the group including Dowhigh, a relationship which has been in place for many years dating back to founder Dominic Murray.

As part of the presentation and to add a “visual” aspect to the proceedings, Dowhigh provided a 15 minute video using both ground and aerial drone footage of the village and groups which played as a backdrop to Brenda’s talk. Included in the video was footage of the work which we helped with at the War Memorial.

After the presentation, the judges were then taken around Ainsdale to take in some of the groups, before finishing at Merefield school where the day was drawn to a close with lunch.

It was great to hear from a number of people about the impact that the video had on the presentation, and the thanks from people for the help that we’ve provided to the community as part of the Britain in Bloom entry.

All that’s left now is to wait for the results when they are announced… and to congratulate Brenda, the Village Bloomers and all of the community groups who made up part of the entry for all of their hard work. Dowhigh wish you the very best of luck!
