Knob Hall Lane of Southport has been named in the Liverpool Echo’s “seven weird facts about Southport” article.
The lane, which is an unadopted road, has struggled with potholes and damaged surface for a long time. The residents, fed up of the condition of the surface, put the lane forward to a campaign the Daily Express ran in 2021 / 2022 to find the “UK’s shabbiest street”.
After reviewing the surface, the Daily Express announced that Knob Hall Lane had won the campaign, and in association with JCB and Dowhigh, the potholes would be repaired using JCB’s new PotHole Repair Pro machine and with labour and materials provided by Dowhigh Ltd.
